Meet Ron Beadle
Liberal Democrat Candidate for Gateshead Central and Whickham
Our candidate for Gateshead Central and Whickham is Ron Beadle, who has represented Low Fell on the Council since 1996.
As a Professor of Business Ethics, Ron wants big business taxed properly and not left to exploit people and ruin our precious environment. He supports the Lib Dems ‘Fair Deal’ to do just this. Ron leads Gateshead’s 18 Lib Dem Councillors. We are the only opposition on the Council and with over 30% of the vote in May’s local elections, the Lib Dems are the clear challengers to Labour in Gateshead Central and Whickham.
With his wife, Shakuntala, a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor for children, Ron has raised two children, educated at Kells Lane Primary and Emmanuel College.
In 2022 Ron was diagnosed with bowel cancer. Following surgery and chemotherapy he is now cancer free. Ron took only one week off his Council duties while he was undergoing treatment.
Ron has the energy, the commitment, and the experience to be a great MP!
