Liberal Democrat response to BNP candidate expulsion from Reform

Councillor Ron Beadle, Liberal Democrat Leader of the Opposition on Gateshead Council, has responded to Reform’s expulsion of their candidate for Saltwell when his past in the far right anti-semitic BNP was exposed.

Ron said:

“The national Reform Party have done the right thing by expelling this person but Gateshead Reform looks like a party that is out of control.

“This is yet another example of Reform vetting of candidates being a waste of time. And it raises the question of who else is lurking in Reform”

“We are two weeks into the election campaign and Reform are two candidates down already. Reform are losing them at the rate of one a week.”
