No to Harlow Green Standing Charges
We, the undersigned residents, call on Gateshead Council's Cabinet to reverse its planned gas and electricity standing charges in Harlow Green.
Standing charges mean residents pay a fixed amount every day, even if they use little or no energy. This undermines efforts to save energy, places an extra burden on households during a cost of living crisis, and is fundamentally unfair.
The Council should not be adding charges to residents' bills. We urge Cabinet members to rethink this decision and work with residents to find a fairer solution.
