Gateshead charges the highest levels of Council Tax for band D properties of any metropolitan borough in the country but residents feel that it is out of touch and unresponsive. That has to change!

Welcome to the new Gateshead Liberal Democrats website. Our team of 13 Councillors represent wards across Gateshead. We actively campaign across the borough, and we gained a new Councillor in each of the last two elections. We have been the only Opposition to Labour on the Council since 1996.
